On the occasion of 72nd birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Kangana Ranaut's team took to Instagram to share a new look from her upcoming film, Thalaivi. In the photo, Kangana can be seen wearing a white saree with a black and red border and a red bindi on her forehead. Kangana is a spitting image of Jayalalithaa when she was in her 30s and set to enter politics.

Sharing the look from the film, the actress' team wrote on social media, "Revealing Kangana's look from the film Thalaivi on the occasion of 72nd Birth Anniversary of Jayalalithaa. The film is based on the story of the life of J Jayalalithaa, and touts to shed light on the lesser known aspects of her life."

Directed by AL Vijay, the film will trace the journey of Jayalalithaa from ''a superstar heroine'' to ''a revolutionary hero''. Take a look at the poster below:

The first look of Kangana from the film was released in November last year. In the poster, Kangana can be seen clad in a green saree with a green jacket on top. She is also seen sporting a bindi on forehead.

Speaking of her transformation into Jayalalithaa, Kangana had told mid-day, in an interview last year that she had to take "hormone pills." Kanagana told mid-day, "Since I am tall and skinny, and my face is angular, not round, I had to take mild doses of hormone pills to look different. Of course, I also started eating foods that promote weight gain."

The film will release in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages. Kangana had earlier revealed that she found it difficult to learn the Tamil language. "I am finding it difficult to learn Tamil. This film will be released in Hindi and Tamil, so we will do something about it. Obviously, I have to mug up those dialogues because Tamil is not an easy language. Earlier, I was trying to learn the complete Tamil language because I have learned English as well, but now I am learning Tamil as per the demand of film's script," Kangana had said while interacting with the media at an event.

Kangana has four looks spanning different ages in the film and Hollywood Make-up artist Jason Collins has been roped in for Kangana's makeover. Thalaivi also stars Arvind Swamy, Jisshu Sengupta and Prakash Raj. Produced by Vishnu Vardhan Iduri and Shaailesh R Singh, the film is slated to hit the theatres on June 26, 2020.

Apart from Thalaivi, Kangana will be playing an Air Force Pilot in her next titled Tejas. It is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and being directed by Sarvesh Mewara. Tejas is set to go on floors this summer and is slated to release in April 2021.
