Salman Khan movies always make it to the headlines not just because of its leading ladies. Each time the superstar announces his next project, speculations get rife about the female lead of the movie.

So has been the case with Salman's upcoming movie Kick 2, which happens to be the sequel of his 2014 release Kick.

There were reports that the Sultan star will be seen romancing Jacqueline Fernandez in the movie. However, if the recent buzz is to be believed, the makers have decided to replace the Sri Lankan beauty in Kick 2 and are considering in an A-lister actress opposite Salman Khan.

We are talking about Deepika Padukone.

Reportedly, the decision was made after Jacqueline was finalised in Race 3 opposite Salman. Besides, the producers are in a mood to present a fresh pair in Kick 2 and are planning to rope in DP given that she hasn't shared the screen space with Khan yet.

"Deepika Padukone is being considered for Kick 2 with the film going on floors sometime next year. As Jacqueline and Salman are already working together in Race 3, it only makes sense to give audience a fresh pairing. However, the final call is up to Sajid and Salman," a source reportedly told Bollywood Life.

Well, no official confirmation has been made in this regard yet, but if the reports turned out to be true it will quite interesting to watch Deepika and Salman in one frame.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time Deepika has been considered to be paired opposite Khan. In fact, Salman had offered to DP a movie much before her Bollywood launch with 2007's Om Shanti Om.

"He offered me my first film when I was too young and I was not ready to be in front of the camera. I will always be grateful to him. Just the fact that he offered me a film was a great thing. It is taking a long time for us to come together on screen, so I think there is something special waiting for us," Deepika had admitted in one of her interviews.

Currently, Deepika Padukone is busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming period drama Padmavati also starring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
