After winning hearts with her mind-blowing performances in Kedarnath and Simmba, Sara Ali Khan is all set for her next film with Imtiaz Ali. The romantic drama titled Love Aaj Kal also features Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. Now, if latest reports are to be trusted, Sara is being considered to star opposite Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey 2’.
According to a report on Latestly, Sara met with Kaminey director Vishal Bhardwaj and had intense discussions with regards to the sequel of the film. "They were zeroing on an actress alongside Shahid Kapoor for Kaminey 2 (yes, the second installment of the critically acclaimed film), Sara has become an obvious choice for the project," a source told the website.
The report further said, "After the success of her two films Kedarnath and Simmba, Sara was gearing up for Coolie No 1 and Love Aaj Kal 2, and now it's just a matter of time that Sara will announce that she will be seen with Sasha."
Sara is currently shooting for her next, Coolie No. 1 opposite Varun Dhawan which is slated for a May 2020 release. She will also be seen in Love Aaj Kal. She will also be seen in Atrangi Re with Akshay Kumar and South star Dhanush.
Shahid, on the other hand, is working on the Tamil film Jersey's remake. It will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri, who also helmed the original 2019 film, starring Nani in the lead. Jersey chronicles the story of a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to the field in his late 30s driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfil his son's wish for a jersey.
Talking about the film, Shahid had said in a statement, "I wanted to do an original film so that people don't think I'm doing only remakes. But when I saw the film, it touched my heart... I cried four times while watching it. The character isn't like Kabir Singh. He's a quiet, introvert man but his intensity and journey was inspiring for me," he said.
The film is scheduled to be released in August 2020. Super 30 actress Mrunal Thakur has been roped in to star opposite Shahid in the film.
