Shamshera: Ranbir Kapoor excited to be a dacoit in YRF production

Ranbir Kapoor is on a roll these days, especially on the professional front. The actor, who has got the town buzzing with his upcoming movie Sanjay, has now been roped up for YRF's upcoming production Shamshera.

The actor will reportedly be seen playing the role of a dacoit in the movie, which is being helmed by Agneepath fame Karan Malhotra.

Yash Raj Films even shared a 45-second motion poster of Shamshera on micro-blogging site Twitter where they introduced RK in the titular role.

Indeed, Ranbir is quite elated to be a part of the project and said that this is what he had been looking for.

"'Shamshera' is exactly the film I was looking for. While growing up watching Hindi commercial cinema, I had an image of what a film hero should be doing. 'Shamshera' allows me to do everything that I had imagined and it's a very exciting project for me. Karan is going to take me completely out of my comfort zone and I'm looking forward to this challenge," Ranbir was quoted as saying.

The makers are planning to present Ranbir in a never-seen-before avtaar.

The 35-year-old actor will be working with the production house after a gap of nine years. His last project with YRF was "Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year".

"Shamshera" is set to go on the floors by the end of this year and shooting will wrap by mid-2019.

Ranbir, who will next be seen in Sanjay Dutt biopic "Sanju", is currently working on Ayan Mukerji's "Brahmastra". The film will see him in the role of a superhero.
