Rohit Shetty's Singham franchise has been one of the most popular film series featuring Ajay Devgn as the brave heart cop in both installments. So when Singham 3 was announced it was obvious for the audience to expect Devgn reprising his role in the movie.
But much to everyone's surprise, the Shivaay actor will not be a part of the Singham franchise anymore. Reportedly, Sunny Deol has replaced Ajay in the third instalment of Singham franchise which is said to be the remake of Suriya's Tamil movie Si3.
The media reports suggest that the third part of Singham series will not just have a new lead but a new director too as debutant K Ravi Chandran. will be making his way to direction.
While the reports have come as a surprise for many, it is being reported that Deol contacted Ajay before signing the movie and sought his permission for the same.
According to a report published in Bollywood Hungama, "Before agreeing to do the film, reportedly, Sunny Deol contacted Ajay Devgn to discuss about the same and only after Ajay agreed with Sunny taking the franchise ahead, did the actor-director confirmed about doing the film. It seems that the actor was impressed with the South film and was keen on doing the same ever since. He also apparently promised Ajay that he won’t be using the name Singham in the film."
Well, that was indeed a sweet gesture by Sunny Deol. Apparently, the makers are also planning to get a new female lead for Singham 3, however haven't zeroed in on a name yet.
Currently, Sunny Deol is busy promoting his upcoming movie Poster Boys along with Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade. The movie is said to be a remake of a Marathi movie of the same name and is said to release in September this year.
