After playing a kabaddi player in Panga, Kangana Ranaut is all set to portray an Air Force Pilot in her next titled Tejas. It is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and being directed by Sarvesh Mewara. The makers and Kangana’s team shared the first look of the film as well. Sharing a picture, the Instagram handle of Kangana’s team wrote: ''For all the brave hearted and strong headed women in Uniform who make sacrifices for our nation day in and day out .... Kangana to play an airforce pilot in her next , titled - TEJAS.''

The poster shows Kangana as IAF pilot. Her hair is neatly tied in a bun and she is wearing a pair of aviators. Kangana also has a helmet in her hand. In the background, we can see a majestic fighter aircraft parked on the runway.

Talking about the film, Kangana earlier said, ''I’ve always wanted to play a soldier and have been fascinated with the Armed Forces since childhood. I’ve never held back my emotions for our jawans and spoken openly about how strongly I feel about their heroism. They keep our country secure and our people safe. So, I’m very happy to be doing this film.''

'I will undergo intense training before the shoot starts. My director has decided to get professional trainers on board. Right now, I’m too deep into Thalaivi (the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa). After that, we’ll get to Tejas, which we will start this year itself,'' she added.

Kangana was last seen in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwary's Panga alongside Richa Chadha, Neena Gupta and Jassie Gill. The film failed to create magic at the box office. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari had revealed that Kangana had to put on a few kgs for her role in Panga. ''Kangana had to put on some weight, but her body type is such that it doesn’t look extra on her. She immediately lost the kilos, but has put them back for her next. I don’t know how she does it over and over; I have difficulty losing even once.''

The actress is also gearing for Thalaivi, a biopic on yesteryear actress and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Meanwhile, Tejas is set to go on floors this summer and is slated to release in April 2021
