It seems the trend will be followed in Shamshera as the makers of the film have brought-on board Vaani Kapoor to play the female lead. The Bollywood diva, who was last seen in Befikre, will romance Ranbir Kapoor in the upcoming flick.
The Delhi born actress won critical appreciation for her performance in her debut film Shuddh Desi Romance. Interestingly, Vaani is working with Yash Raj Films for the third time in her career.
All her previous two films have been made under the banner of the reputed production house.
Vaani Kapoor shared a poster of the film and captioned it as ‘’New beginnings’’.

Karan Malhotra, who is helming Shamshera gave details about Vaani’s character in the film. The Agneepath director said that Kapoor would play the role of desirable and sought-after travelling performer from the Indian heartland in the masala entertainer.
"Vaani plays Ranbir's love interest in the film and is a very important collaborator in his character's journey. Her character graph is interlinked to the plot of the film making her a crucial catalyst in our hero's rebellious mission’’, Karan Malhotra said in a statement.
Karan said that Vaani was tailor-made for the role and the team wanted a fresh face to wow the audience on the silver screen. The Brothers director added that the 29-year-old actress perfectly fits the bill for the character.Â
The cast and crew of the film are expected to start shooting by the end of the year. The makers are yet to announce a release date but Shamshera has already started making waves among movie buffs.
