Disney+ has arrived in India, weeks ahead of its scheduled launch date - March 29. Hours after Hotstar app was revamped to Disney+ Hotstar, Disney's exclusive shows like The Mandalorian, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, A Bug's Life, Cars 3, Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange are now available on the streaming service in India. The new content went live around 10am on Wednesday. A bunch of kids' TV shows featuring the likes of Mickey Mouse, Rapunzel, and Timon & Pumbaa are also streaming on the app.

The service, bundled with Disney+, is currently available at no additional charge to existing Hotstar subscribers — who pay Rs 999 for a year — though the premium tier carries a new yearly sticker price of Rs 3,588. Earlier the premium tier had a sticker price of about Rs 2,500, though Hotstar has been discounting it at Rs 999.
Disney had acquired Hotstar streaming service in 2017 as part of its acquisition of Fox Studios, which also included the entire Star India group. Besides India, Disney Plus is also set for rollout in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland on March 24.
