Amazon’s Prime The Family Man has been receiving rave views for its snappy one-liners and engaging narrative. The shows stars Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a loving husband and a father of two. The twist? He is an undercover agent at the NIA (National Investigative Agency), while his wife (played by Priyamani) is unaware of his 'other job'.
The 10-episodes first season was released on September 20, 2019 with 40 minutes of run-time. Additionally, the creators of the show, D.K. and Raj have already said that they want to curate another season of the spy drama. So, there is a high chance that the second season of The Family Man would release late 2020 during October and September.
Speaking to Gadgets 360, director Raj said, ''As you're researching, you're studying a lot more about various geopolitical situations and things that are simmering, things that could happen.'' ''And that may not fit into this scope of season one. So we know that, ‘Oh, wow, this is a great idea for season two, so let's put it there.' Whatever ideas we get relevant to it, we'll start putting in that story. We've thought of three initially,'' he added.
Talking about his role in The Family Man, Manoj Bajpayee recently told India Today, ''The Family Man is unique. I don't think anything like this has ever been done in (Hindi) cinema. Srikant Tiwari is a spy but his job is like any other government job. He's struggling to make ends meet, he's unable to give his family the little things he should be able to. The most important thing in that is time. He was a brilliant student; he could have chosen any other career path but he loves this, yet struggles with guilt. He has negative shades too. He's a whole character in that sense.''
In short, Manoj Bajpayee’s role as Srikant Tiwari is nothing less than epic and we really hope the makers to return with another season. The cast also comprises Sharib Hashmi, Sharad Kelkar, Neeraj Madhav, Gul Panag, Sunny Hinduja, and Shreya Dhanwantary.
