Bigg Boss has had its fair share of controversies. The show has been accused of being 'vulgar' and 'cheap' and even 'plain stupid' at times. However, on Sunday, the show was accused of promoting 'love jihad' on social media. A call to ban Bigg Boss with #JehadFelataBiggBoss even started trending on Twitter.

An image went viral with a claim that the reality show was encouraging "Love Jihad". The still showed an intimate couple sharing a bed. The text with the image claimed, the show has invited a Kashmiri Muslim man and deliberately partnered him with a Brahmin woman 'to encourage Love Jihad'.

One can see the archived version of the tweet here.

However, it is indeed true that Kashmiri Muslim man Asim Riaz is the contestant in the current season of Bigg Boss.

While the new rule of Bigg Boss 13 forces contestents to share beds, the image and the claim takes it into a whole new direction.

However, a simple reverse image search of the still exposed the claim. The image is from Bigg Boss season 9. It has been taken from a YouTube channel TellyMasala which describes it as - 'Suyyash & Kishwer Intimate On-Camera'. The couple in the video are Suyyash Rai and Kishwer Merchant. They got married in 2016 after having been together in a relationship for a long time.

As per the reports, in Bigg Boss 13, contestant Mahira Sharma chose Asim Riaz as her task partner as both of them hails from Kashmir.
