Odisha Postal Circle recruitment notification has been released for Meritorious Sports Person. The name of the positions that are going to be filled are Postman, MTS and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant. All interested and eligible candidates need to apply through the prescribed format latest by January 6, 2020. Candidates need to read the official notification and eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the respective posts.
A total 30 vacant positions are going to be filled under the Meritorious Sports Person Quota. Out of all vacant positions, 5 posts of postman are going to be filled, one each under Wrestling, Weightlifting, Best Physique, Basketball and Athletics – Male categories. Apart from this, 4 posts of MTS are going to be filled, one each for Wrestling, Best Physique, Basketball and Athletics – Male Categories. The 21 positions of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant that are going to be filled are as follows:

Wrestling - 01
Athletics – 2 (Female)
Hockey - 03
Cricket - 03 (Batsman)
Football-03
Volleyball- 01
Badminton - 02
Chess - 02
Carrom - 01
posts are in the range of Rs 18,000 – Rs 56,900, Rs 25,500 – Rs 81,100 and Rs 21,700 – Rs 69,100 respectively. The eligibility criteria for the Postman and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant posts is class 12th pass certificate from a recognized board, and for the MTS post, candidates need to have passed class 10th examination from a recognized board.
Apart from the educational qualification, candidates need to be sportspersons who have represented the country/state in National or International competition. Sportspersons who have represented their universities and State school team in National sports are also eligible to apply.
Candidates need to be in the age group of 18 to 27 years for the MTS and PA/SA posts whereas candidates need to be in the age group of 18 to 25 years for the Postman Post.
