New Delhi :
India is all set to meet fierce rivals Australia at Mohali in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2016. The Men in Blue escaped a scare against Bangladesh to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. It is virtually a quarter-finals for both the teams as they have four points each after playing three matches. If India advances to semis it will meet West Indies at Mumbai.
In the last three encounters in T20 against Australia, India humbled them to a white wash to clinch the series in Down Under.
Let’s look at five things which India need to get right to beat the Aussies:
1- Openers need to fire- In last three matches Indian openers have failed to provide a solid start which has been the main problem. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are unable to convert their starts to big innings. With openers failure, Virat has to do all the hard work.
2- Middle order must score- The middle order depends on Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh. Apart from Kohli, no one as score runs. Yuvraj scored against Pakistan, Raina got some runs against Bangladesh but consistency is lacking with both of them. Yuvraj need to fire at Mohali.
3- Nehra, Bumrah to take wickets- Nehra and Bumrah need to take wickets upfront and in end overs. But against Australia at Mohali, Nehra will have to be at his best. If both the players can bowl on a single line then it can resolve the Indian problems in death overs.
4- Ashwin, Jadeja to play key role- Both the spinners Ashwin, Jadeja has to fire all cylinders if India have any chance to beat the Aussies. Playing spin has been a problem from the visitors. But Mohali will assist the pacers.
5- Catches need to grabbed- In the last match India spelled three catches and two of them were easy chances. Bumrah dropped a sitter of Tamim and Ashwin also gave life to Shakib.
