India reached semi-finals of ICC T20 World Cup 2016 after beating Australia at Mohali. But still the team is in trouble over using country’s tricolour on their helmets. Filmmaker and social activist P Ullhas lodged a complaint with the Mohali Police, altering them about the issue.
The complaint said in the match between India and Australia game, ‘India’s flag wasn’t treated with due respect.’ He said on social media, “It is illegal to paste tricolour on helmets. Our national pride is disrespected by that, it is shameful to note that the players are seen spitting on the ground where they also put their helmet.”
Indian skipper MS Dhoni himself stopped using the tri-color, but other members including Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina are still using the flag. Ullhas first registered the complaint to the Home Ministry.
Earlier this month, he had registered a complaint against actor Amitabh Bachchan for wrongly pronouncing words from India’s national anthem, during the India-Pakistan match at Eden Gardens.
