New Delhi:

Zampa and Faulkner handed the knockout blow to Pakistan. Pakistan were never really in control of the asking rate throughout the chase of 194. They ultimately fell short by 21 runs, which sets up a virtual quarter-final showdown between India and Australia.

In the first half an hour Pakistan has the upper hand by removing Australia's top three but a late surge from skipper Smith and all-rounder Watson, took away the momentum in the group stage at Mohali in ICC T20 World Cup 2016.

The late surge in the middle overs, helped Australia to 193 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs.

Smith played a busy innings. He played only six dots, two of which came when he was swinging in the last over. Pakistan need to overhaul 193 if they are to stay alive.

Australian skipper SPD Smith on Friday won toss and elected to bat against Shahid Afridi led Pakistan in a must win game at Mohali. Australia has made two changes in its team – Finch is replacing Mitch and Hazlewood has replaced Hastings. While, Pakistan is playing with only one change in squad – Wahab is back in team to replace Mohammad Irfan.
