14 Gujarati origins out of 27 non-white members in British Parliament

British Parliament has 14 Gujarati origin members, said a British Journalist of Gujarati origin CB Patel during a program at GCCI hall in Ahmedabad.

While addressing the audience Patel said, “Out of 27 non-white members of British Parliament 14 are Gujarati descent.”

He also said that Gujaratis are holding positions or leading in all major sectors including education in the United Kingdom.

Patel also informed the audiences that the British government provides special financial aid to the community for learning Gujarati.

The event was organized by the NRG Centre. Vishnu Pandya, chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Academy, was another speaker at the event.

He urged the people of Gujarat and the government of Gujarat to improve ties with the Britian for development of Gujarat and India.

The UK parliament has 650 members of parliament.
