Journalists on Wednesday were attacked by a fringe group during a event where 14 Muslim members of a family were allegedly being converted to Hinduism in Kolkata.
Police said, the incident occured at Rani Rasomi Avenue at Kolkata’s Dharmatala locality.
The alleged conversion of Muslim persons were being done Hindu Samhati — a non-political organisation that claims to raise voice for for Hindu Solidarity against Islamic Aggression in West Bengal.
The journalists who went to the program to cover the event were attacked by the members of the fringe group.
Police have arrested three persons including founder of the grouper, Tapan Ghosh, in connection to the attack on the journalists.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has condemned the incident.
