17 killed after a bus crashes into two cars on Mumbai-Pune expressway

17 people were killed and around 30 others were injured when a bus crashed into two cars and fell into a 20-feet deep ditch on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The accident took place in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

As the initial reports came, a Swift had stopped on the side of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway as the driver was changing a punctured tyre. An Innova car had stopped in the first lane to help the driver. A bus coming from Satara crashed into the Innova and the Desire and fell into a 20-feet deep ditch.

The injured were rushed to the hospital in Panvel. Death toll could rise further as some of the passengers have been grievously injured.
