Two policemen were suspended on the charges of facilitating illegal mining, police said on Thursday. On the complaints of illegal mining on the banks of Bagey river in the forest area, senior police officials were sent on the spot who found six tractors laden with sand, Superintendent of Police Sripati Misra said.
Prima facie Majuta police chowki In-charge Ayodhya PrasadPrajapati and Head Constable Gulab Misra were found involvedin the activities and have been placed under suspension, hesaid. Further probe is underway in the matter, the SP added.
