A 2-year-old girl, who was rescued from a 30-feet long borewell by Army on Sunday, passed away in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Locals came up contradicting the official statement and claimed that she has fell in at least 60-feet long borewell. There was no sign of Khushi after diggers reached a depth of 25 feet in the past five hours.

A team of army experts then reached the place of incident from Bareily.

The borewell is one of the five dug around the roadways colony by the Kanpur Developing Authority (KDA). The borewells weren’t allegedly closed after the work related to soil testing was over.

Allegedly, the toddler had crawled and slipped into the hole. Khushi and her mother were in Kanpur for some treatment and were staying at their relative’s home in a nearby colony.
