Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court to dismiss Maharashtra Government’s petition against him in 2002 hit-and-run case. Salman accused Mumbai Police of falsely implicating him in the case.

In an affidavit filed in apex court, Salman stated that he was not driving the car at the time of the accident, nor he was drunk. He added that his driver Ashok Singh was at the wheel. He further stated in his affidavit, that his driver called the police control room after the accident and went to the police station to record his statement.

The Dabangg actor also said that the police had refused to record his driver's statement. Khan alleged that besides his bodyguard Ravindra Patil whose statements were never recorded. There were four people inside the car at the time of accident Salman Khan, driver Ashok Singh, Ravindra Patil and singer Kamaal Khan.

Salman Khan alleged that even when the case came to the Bombay High Court, the prosecution falsely claimed that Kamaal Khan did not respond to the summons. He further alleged that the summons had been issued at the wrong address.
