Giving an account of his government’s relief measures in the wake of flood in state, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that 26 teams of SDRF and NDRF teams have rescued around 1,25,000 people safely from flood affected areas. He ensured that more such steps will be taken to cope up the flood in the state. 199 relief camps and 676 community kitchens have already been set up in the state, the CM added.

Meanwhile, the opposition leaders in state including Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi, held a protest outside Bihar State Assembly alleging inaction by state government on the flood situation in Bihar.
Due to continuous rainfall, Bihar is reeling under devasting flood leading to huge loss of life and property in the state. At least five rivers- Baghmati, Kamla Balan, Lalbakeya, Adhwara and Mahanand are flowing above the danger level.
Sheohar, Sitamarhi, East Champaran, Madhubani, Araria, Kishanganj, Supaul, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur are the worst affected districts in the state.
The CM in his address in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha added, “25 people have died due to floods in the state so far. Relief and rescue operations are underway.â€
Earlier, at high-level a meeting in the state, CM Nitish directed the officials to take care of the arrangements made for the flood-hit people at the camps. As per an official release, the CM ordered to expedite the rescue and relief operations.
On Monday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of several districts. He was accompanied by water resources minister Sanjay Jha, chief secretary Deepak Kumar, additional chief secretary (Water Resources department) Arun Kumar and Disaster Management Department principal secretary Pratyaya Amrit during the aerial survey.
The Patna Meteorological Centre has predicted heavy rain with thunderstorm at many places in Bihar in the next four days.
