250 terrorists return to LoC launchpads, reveal satellite images: Report

The rise in the cross-border terror activities was also confirmed by the Indian Army.

Amid strong buzz of a strong action in Jammu and Kashmir, latest satellite images have revealed that around 250 terrorists have reached the launchpads constructed near the Line of Control in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. These terrorists were moved back deep inside Pakistani territory during Imran Khan’s US visit. But now an HT report says that specific intel inputs and satellite images show the terrorists have returned to the camps near the Line of Control. The report comes at a time when there is a spike in intrusion activities along the border areas.

The rise in the cross-border terror activities was also confirmed by the Indian Army. Yesterday, during a joint press conference, top Indian Army commander said that five out of six Kashmiri youngsters who join militancy have a record of being involved in pelting stones at security forces, the Army said on Friday.

"We have done an in-depth analysis of the data on insurgency in Kashmir. My request to Kashmiri mothers is, listen to this carefully, 83 per cent of the local terrorists were once stone-pelters. So, if your son is throwing stones on the forces today for Rs 500, then he is tomorrow's terrorist," General Officer Commanding of the Army's 15 Corps Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon told reporters. He said anyone who picked up the gun had a short shelf life as 64 per cent of them got killed within a year of doing so.

It should be noted that the Line of Control had witnessed a relatively calmer time after the Balakot airstrikes. An earlier report by The Indian Express had said that the impact of the Indian Air Force’s daring non-military airstrikes inside Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Balakot was audible on the Line of Control. Pakistan had resorted to use of low-calibre weapons during the cross-border firing. According to a report by the Indian Express, the Pakistan Army was avoiding using big guns during the ceasefire violations. Not just the high-calibre weapons, the overall ceasefire violations had also seen a major drop. But the situation has changed now with terrorists trying to disturb the relative lull on the Line of Control
