The Delhi BJP unit on Sunday conducted a cleanliness drive at over 50 spots in the national capital on the second anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission.
Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the party’s national organisational general secretary Ram Lal, Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay, MP Ramesh Bidhuri and North DMC Mayor Sanjiv Nayyar took part in the drive.
Naqvi, along with Delhi BJP’s Minority Morcha president Atif Rasheed and India Islamic Culture Centre head Sirajuddin Qureshi, took part in the drive near the dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya at Lodhi Road.
The Union minister did ‘shramdaan’ for over two hours. Later, he and others prayed at the dargah for the welfare of the countrymen.
Ram Lal, accompanied by Delhi BJP’s organisational general secretary Sidharthan, vice president Kuljeet Chahl and local Councillor Lata Gupta, took part in the drive at Pandav Nagar in east Delhi.
Later, he felicitated the EDMC Safai Karamcharis of ward 224 for their hard work.
Upadhyay launched the second phase of the cleanliness drive at Malviya Nagar and Indira JJ Camp. He was accompanied by South DMC officials and party workers.
Bidhuri took part in the drive at Madhu Vihar and Tughlakabad Extension.
