After the horrific deaths of nine new-born children, three more children die in the neonatal care unit of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital on Sunday.
As per reports, the state government has already given clean chit to the hospital after the initial investigation.
The state government had stated that 4 deaths per day is normal in the hospital and 9 deaths are slightly higher than the average.
“This hospital gets the highest number of referral cases from other places and many of the babies who come to the neonatal unit are extremely underweight and ill. However, we will see if there has been any negligence on the part of the hospital,” said Dr RL Dixit who headed the three-member committee.
The state health commissioner Jayanti Ravi had also maintained that deaths have not happened because of medical negligence.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had also visited the hospital on Sunday.
