Swaroop Raj, the former assistant vice president of Genpact India, on Wednesday committed suicide following his suspension on charges of sexual harassment by two employees at the US-based professional services firm in Noida. The 35-year-old senior executive was found hanging from the ceiling fan around 11:30 pm at their apartment in Paramount Floraville society by his wife. Swaroop was placed in a temporary suspension over the allegations till the case was being probed, according to an official statement released by Genpact India.
Swaroop, however, in his purported suicide note, denied all the allegations against him and said that even if he was proven innocent, his reputation had been tarnished for life and he wouldn't be able to face anyone. He also wrote that he loved his wife dearly and that she should be strong and live with respect.
