Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader was shot dead by unknown bike born assailants in Punjab's Ludhiana on Tuesday.
The deceased RSS leader has been identified as Ravinder Gosain, 60-year-old.
Punjab Police told the media that Gosain was shot twice, once on his head and the other on the back.
Gosain was sitting outside his home when he was shot. The injuries were unsustainale. He was the head of Mohan Shikha located in Amantran colony of Jodhewal.
The zonal General Secretary of RSS, Yash Giri accused the police of failling law and order situation and said that top leaders of the BJP including Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had called to ask about the incident.
Ludhiana police have released the CCTV images of the assailants on social media along with contact numbers. The case becomes more intriguing as Ravinder Gosain never received any threats before.
It is worthy to note here that Kerala have reported the highest number of murders due to political reasons in the period between 2000 and 2017.
According to RSS, 65 of their cadres and BJP workers have been killed between 2000 and 2017 in Kerala.
