Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on the 71st Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Tuesday. His speech may include the achievements his government in the last three years and further prospects. It is also expected that PM Modi will talk about the Goods and Services Tax and the benefits the country will get from its implementation in the future. This time PM Modi's speech will be smaller than before.

Apart from this, he may also talk about the situation in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and eastern India, and the efforts being made by the central government to resolve such issues.

Terrorism and Kashmir issue

PM Modi can speak on terrorism and related issues as in recent times, it is seen that terrorists are being killed by Indian security personnel in many areas of Kashmir. This is a great achievement from India's point of view and at the same time, the ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy has always been adopted by the central government against terrorism.

Demonetisation

The opposition parties have always targeted the central government over its demonetisation move. Recently, the Congress party had come up with two different sizes of Rs 500 notes in the Lok Sabha, terming it to be the ‘biggest scam of the century’. Hence, it is expected that the PM may also speak on this issue.

Swachh Bharat Campaign

‘Swachh Bharat Campaign’ is PM Modi’s one of the top most agendas. He may talk about the government’s efforts to clean India in the last three years and the future prospects related to the campaign.

Pakistan and China issue

PM Modi may also speak on India’s relations with the two neighbouring countries. India’s ongoing tussle with China over Doklam issue and terrorism coming from Pakistan’s side are the two important issues that the country is facing right now.

Gorakhpur Medical College

More than 60 children died due to lack of oxygen in the Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College in Gorakhpur on Friday. Till now, the Prime Minister has not discussed this issue on any forum. The Opposition parties are also targeting him and his silence on the issue. Hence, there is a lot of possibility that he could speak on this issue.
