Bad news for Lashkar-e-Taiba as Majid Arshid has chosen the pen over pistol. An aspiring footballer, Majid returned to the bosom care of his mother and family a week after joining the terrorist outfit.Â
Majid who is a student and a colleg level footballer walked into a security camp with his arms and ammunitions and surrendered. Later he was taken to an undisclosed location.Â
It is the tireless effort of the Police which has been in touch with his family and friends urging them to put presure on Arshid to return home.Â
From sources it is learnt that Majid plunged into militancy after a close friend was killed in an encounter.
CM of Jammu and Kashmir has welcomed the change of heart of Majid Khan and has assured that he will have full opportunity to live a dignified life and will not be harrassed. Â
I understand the predicament of young boys who have strayed into militancy. Most realise the futility of senseless violence & want to return home and live normal lives with dignity.
