AAP Defamation Case: Arvind Kejriwal says 'sorry' to Arun Jaitley

Continuing his apology spree, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said “sorry” to BJP leader and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in a defamation case he has filed against him.

Apart from Kejriwal, AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Raghav Chadha also apologised to the BJP leader for their allegations of corruption.

In a joint letter to Jaitley, Kejriwal said that the allegations he had made against the leader were “unfounded” and “unwarranted”.

Jaitley had filed a Rs 10 crore defamation suit against Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders, Raghav Chadha, Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Deepak Bajpai.

The AAP leaders had alleged financial irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) when Jaitley was its president.

The apology to Jaitley came days after the AAP chief said “sorry” to former Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Congress leader Kapil Sibal for his unverified allegations.

From Delhi to Bangalore to Mumbai to Guwahati, Kejriwal is facing more than 15 defamation cases across the country and the series of apologies is a part of AAP’s plan to get rid of all the legal mess.
