Aam Admi Party on Tuesday suspended party spokesperson Alka Lamba for two months after she commented on Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai’s resignation. She told reporters here that Rai had been relieved of the said portfolio to ensure a fair probe into Delhi Premium Bus Service row. However, as opposed to this statement, Rai himself had said that he resigned from the minister’s post on health grounds and it had nothing to do with any of the corruption allegations levelled against him.
Lamba on the other hand told reporters outside the Anti-Corruption Branch’s (ACB’s) office that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had asked Rai to step down and make way for a fair probe.
The AAP leader earlier also said that he was prepared to go to jail if corruption charges are proved against him in an app-based premium bus service scheme.
