The Aam Aadmi Party will gherao the residences of all seven Delhi BJP MPs in protest against the metro fare hike, the party said on Friday.
To start with, the party will gherao the residence of Union minister and Chandni Chowk MP Harsh Vardhan on October 14 and East Delhi MP Maheish Girri’s the next day.
They will protest outside the residences of Northwest Delhi MP Udit Raj, South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri, West Delhi MP Parvesh Varma, New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi and Northeast MP Manoj Tiwari between October 16 and 21.
Party volunteers, led by Delhi unit convenor and Labour Minister Gopal Rai today tried to gherao the Nirman Bhawan, which houses the Union Urban Development Ministry, against the fare hike.
The party had earlier alleged that the fare hike was done by the BJP-led Centre to benefit the app-based cab operators Ola and Uber.
