The ABP News-CVoter ‘Desh ka Mood’ survey predicted that Narendra Modi will return as the Prime Minister if Lok Sabha elections are held today. The vote share of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) will be 38 per cent and 25 per cent respectively, while others would get as many as 37 per cent vote share, the survey predicted.
However, there’s something to cheer about for the UPA as the Congress-led alliance could win big in Punjab and the southern states. According to the survey, the NDA alliance could register a sweeping victory in the Northeastern states, while it will improve its performance in Odisha and Haryana.
In a setback to Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party, the saffron party may end up winning all the seats in Delhi as well. The BJP-led alliance will retain its hold in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh, which has 80 Lok Sabha seats, could be a disaster for the UPA if it fails to form 'Mahagatbandhan' with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party and Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party. However, it is estimated to win more than half the seats if it manages to rope in the SP-BSP together.
In Bihar, if the Congress party forms a grand alliance then it will be close fight. But if the NDA alliance remains then it will be a bad news for the Congress.
However, the BJP is a clear winner in Maharashtra even if its alliance with the Shiv Sena is broken. But if the UPA strikes a deal with the NCP after a split in the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance then the NDA may have to face a tough contest.
