Absconding rape accused Gayatri Prajapati was arrested from Lucknow on Wednesday. Prajapati was brought to Alambagh police station in Lucknow after his arrest. After being produced before sessions court, Prajapati was sent to 14-day judicial remand.
Former SP minister has expressed his wish for a narco test to ascertain truth. Soon after his arrest, Prajapati said that he was going to surrender.
UP DGP Javeed Ahemd informed that Prajapati had stayed in Delhi and Haryana, and the UP police was regularly tracking him. Prajapati was arrested from Lucknow on Wedensday morning, he said.
Earlier, Lucknow Police had nabbed three accomplices of SP leader and interrogated his two sons and nephew to get clues about Prajapati. It was said that Prajapati had fled to West Bengal.
Prajapati was booked on a Supreme Court directive and an FIR was lodged on February 17 against the minister and six others for allegedly gang-raping a woman and alleged attempt to rape her minor daughter.
The apex court had asked the UP Police to submit an action taken report regarding the incidents in eight weeks.

Following which a Look Out notice was issued against him and also a Non-Bailable Warrant. His passport too had been impounded.
