New Delhi:

American IT major Accenture techie was stabbed to death for Rs 500 on Monday, said Bengaluru Police.

The fact surfaced up afte police arrested two youths in connection with the murder of 28-year-old software engineer, Pranay Mishra — a resident of Odisha — near Chocolate Factory on Taverekere Main Road in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru Police have arrested two accused in connection with the murder. The arrested have been identified as Karthik and Arun.

“Mishra’s murder is a case of road rage. The techie was stabbed to death after he denied Rs 500 to the accused,” said Bengaluru Police.

Koramangala Inspector Manjunath said, “The two have accepted to the crime.”

According to police, Mishra was riding his way to his friend’s house in the early hours of Monday when his scooter brushed against a bike.

Police added that after the brush the two accused demanded Rs 500 from Mishra to repair the damages occurred to the bike. On denial two accused on the bike stabbed Mishra with a knife multiple times.

Bengaluru Police officers said that Mishra to avoid further argument started his scooter and left the place.

“The infuriated accused chased Mishra and stabbed him multiple time till he collapsed,” said police.
