Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram has come out in support of Yashwant Sinha who questioned Modi government’s economic policies which he claimed has pushed the economy into a downward spiral.
Chidambaram put forward his aspersions on the present condition of India’s economy as he asked, “Will power admit the truth?â€
Here is what the UPA Finance Minister said, “Congress has exposed many weaknesses in the economy and the terrible mismanagement. We are happy that Mr Yashwant Sinha has echoed our criticism (of the Govt). Congress has, for nearly 18 months, highlighted these very grave weaknesses in economy. We were told, in effect, to shut up.â€Â
Chidambaram further added, “As I travel around the country, what I hear is "Achhe din to aaye nahi, ye bure din kab jaayenge?"Â

“My appeal to all, especially those knowledgeable about economy, is to speak & write without fear; Darr ko chhod do (Let go of your fears), said Chidambaram.
