Adityanath govt transfers 84 IAS officers in UP

New Delhi:

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday transferred 84 IAS officers in the third such drill this month.

Senior IAS officer Rajnish Gupta has been appointed as Director Mandi Parishad while Karna Singh Chauhan has been made as District Magistrate Jhansi.

District Magistrate Fatehpur Selva Kumari J has been sent to Etawah in the similar capacity while Madanpal will take charge as new District Magistrate of Fatehpur. The government has also transferred 39 senior police officers in the state.  

In its first major bureaucratic reshuffle on April 12, the state government had transferred 20 senior IAS officers shunting out Principal Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal and others who wielded considerable influence under the Akhilesh Yadav dispensation.

Sehgal was stripped of all key charge and replaced by UP cadre IAS officer Avanish Kumar Awasthi, who was relieved by the Centre on Aditaynath's request after he took over the reins of the state on March 19.

On April 18, Among those transferred were a number of divisional commissioners and district magistrates.

Resident Commissioner of UP, Prabhat Kumar had been made divisional commissioner Meerut with charge of Chairman Greater Nodia, Yamuna Expressway and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
