To review the progress of his flagship schemes and set the agenda for last year of NDA government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.
All the ministers have been asked to stay present during the meeting, which will be held in Parliament house, according to government sources.
The meeting of the Council of ministers, which comes in the backdrop of BJP’s recent bypoll drubbings, is being held after a gap of seven months.
During the meeting, Modi will review his flagship schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Start-up funding scheme, Mudra Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, among others.
The issues of growing farm distress and farmer’s anger against the Modi government will also be deliberated in the meeting, sources said.
The prime minister may also discuss on efforts made by his government to provide relief to farmers through various initiatives announced in the Budget like 1.5 times higher MSP than the cost of production.
