Hours after it was announced that the Indian Army has carried out surgical strikes across Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit on Thursday reportedly received ‘threat calls’ that asked him to leave India.

Pakistan High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit

Hours after it was announced that the Indian Army has carried out surgical strikes across Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit on Thursday reportedly received ‘threat calls’ that asked him to leave India.

Geo News quoted Pakistan High Commission sources as saying that the threat calls were made from an unknown number and the caller asked Basit that “it is better for you to return to your country”.

India on Thursday announced that it carried out surgical strikes in PoK for four and a half hours in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday and destroyed many terror bases across the LoC. However, Pakistan denied any such surgical strike and said there was only a cross-border firing that killed two of its soldiers.
