After Rajasthan, Telangana has also been hit with increasing swine flu cases.  Since the last few days, nearly 50 H1N1 positive cases have been reported in the state.

In the past one week, H1N1 cases in the state have witnessed a rapid hike, said Director of Government Institute of Preventive Medicine and Superintendent of Government Fever Hospital, Dr Shankar, as reported by News Agency ANI.

Telangana has two medical centres for testing Swine Flu – Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) and Fever hospital. The H1N1 virus has been detected by some district hospitals as well, he added.

Meanwhile, the state officials have put all the districts on alert and have started to provide swine testing kits citing the hike in the Swine Flu cases.  

Till October 9, 2018, around 189 people have died due to Swine Flu in Rajasthan. This is the highest ever tally of deaths recorded in India due to the H1N1 virus.

Swine Flu, also known as H1N1 virus, is a respiratory disease caused by influenza virus that infects the respiratory tract of pigs and causes loss of appetite, nasal secretions and cough. This infection can also affect humans and other animals and is very contagious.
