Ahead of its inauguration portion of Bhagalpur dam breaks, CM Nitish Kumar cancels his scheduled visit

Ahead of its inauguration a portion of a dam in Bhagalpur's Kahalgaon broke down and considering this Bihar Chief Minister has canceled his visit to Bhagalpur, scheduled for Wednesday.

The dam was made at cost of Rs. 389 crores. As the portion of the dam broke down nearby areas were flooded.

The dam is located in Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. The power plant is one of the coal-based power plants of NTPC. The coal for the power plant is sourced from Rajmahal coalfield of Eastern Coalfields Limited. Source of water for the power plant is river Ganga.
