Air India flight from Delhi to Durgapur lands in Lucknow due to technical snag, stranded passengers create ruckus.

New Delhi:

An Air India flight from Delhi to Durgapur was diverted to Lucknow after the craft faced a technical glitch on Thursday morning. Stranded passengers created a ruckus at the airport due to no clarity on the time of departure of an alternate flight. As many as 118 passengers were on board the AI 755 that encountered an engine failure due to which the plane was made to land in the Chaudhary Charan Singh airport in the Uttar Pradesh capital. Passengers take to Twitter to vent out their anger and frustration with saying that the airline is not making any effort to arrange an alternate flight for them, while others blaming the staff for giving them false information.

Ritwik Mondal: Please help us. I am traveller of AI 755 (delhi durgapur flight). Due to some technical fault plant has landed in lucknow airprt. Stl 3 hrs flight in lucknow, but air india staff prvde flse information. (sic)

Rupak Chakraborty: Air india flight AI 755 from Delhi to Durgapur landed at Lucknow Airport due to technical reasons. No effort being made to arrange for any alternate flights to Durgapur. Stuck for over an hour.

Sunny Yadav:  flight number 755. Was supposed to go durgapur, technical problem, landed at Lucknow airport, 2 guys with dead body in his home. No support or relief from air india staff..

On Wednesday, an Air India flight from Delhi to Frankfurt suffered a mid-air decompression and consequently, it returned to the airport "keeping safety of 220 passengers in mind", said the national carrier in a statement. According to airline officials, the flight faced decompression at the height of approximately 20,000 feet around 15 minutes after taking off. "Air India flight AI121 operating from Delhi to Frankfurt today faced an issue of decompression and keeping safety of the 220 passengers in mind, the flight had returned to Delhi. No passenger has suffered any injury," said the Air India spokesperson.
