Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday launched a scathing attack on BJP hours before Supreme Court's hearing on the petition filed by the Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena against the centre's move to end President's Rule and the Governor's move to invite Devendra Fadnavis to form government. Speaking to the media Sanjay Raut said that the BJP will be not be able to form government in Maharashtra since the support of 165 MLAs are with the Sena-Congress-NCP alliance.
"Sharad Pawar is a national leader. If BJP is trying to form govt, it will not happen. It is a wrong step taken by BJP & Ajit Pawar. 165 MLAs are with Shiv Sena, Congress & NCP," he said.
Raut also slammed Ajit Pawar for joining hands with the BJP and said that he made the biggest blunder by back stabbing his uncle (Sharad Pawar) at this age. "Ajit Pawar took false documents to Raj Bhawan yesterday and governor accepted those documents. Even if today, Governor asks us to prove majority, we can do it right now. 49 NCP MLAs are with us," he added.
On Maharashtra government formation, Sanjay Raut said that BJP will have to pay the price of breaking the NCP and take Ajit Pawar to its side. All NCP MLAs are back to their party. “We used to think BJP as a party of businessman, but this time they have failed miserably,” Raut told reporters.
