The Hindu senior leader of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Mahant Mohan Das, who had released a list of ‘fake babas’ has gone missing while travelling from Haridwar to Mumbai.

The incident came to surface on Saturday evening around 7.30 p.m. The train was running nine hours late. An alert was raised after Das’s aide waiting for him at Bhopal station did not find him seated on the train.

Das, spokesperson of the top body of Hindu sadhus, earlier this month had released a list of 14 "fake babas". The list was released weeks after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping two of his followers.

Anita Malviya, Superintendent of Police (SP) Government Railway Police (GRP) told the media that Das was travelling by Haridwar-Lokmanya Tilak Express in coach A1.

“He was last seen in Nizamuddin station,” she addd.

According to a senior police official mobile phone location to be in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. A search operation was launched according to the last location retrieved but the search party did not find any trace of Das.

The SP added that GRP on learning the news the train had reached Bhuswal station. A team was rushed to A1 coach from where the Hindu leaders belongings were recovered from his seat.

The GRP team on questioning fellow passengers learnt that Da did not return to his seat after the train crossed Nizamuddin railway station.
