A joint team of the army and the police shot dead on Friday a militant associated with the Al-Badr group in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, the militant named Muzzafar Ahmed was killed during an encounter in Machu area of the district.
News agency ANI said that Ahmed was previously associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Army officials said that Ahmed was a wanted militant. The army had specific inputs about his presence in the area. He was cornored and shot dead when he tried to break the cordon.
