Amid reports of Pakistan-based terrorists reactivating Balakot camp after the Indian Air Force’s pre-dawn airstrikes in February, there is an alarming development on the Line of Control. The Pakistan-based handlers are using new ‘codes’ to send messages to the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. What is worrying the fact that the Indian intelligence agencies and the military have not been able to crack the code so far. The development was reported by the Hindustan Times on Tuesday. The report adds that the eerie silence on the Line of Control has been more pronounced since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5.

According to the HT report, the Indian officials believe that either the terrorists are using brand new system to communicate or have switched to a different frequency. Earlier, there were reports that the Pakistan Army is using very High Frequency radio stations to send signals to the terrorists and terror groups in the Valley.

Last month, news agency IANS had reported that Pakistan was using its national anthem ‘Qaumi Taranah’ to transmit secret codes to the terrorists. The anthem was officially adopted by Pakistan in August,1954. The report said that the intelligence inputs showed that the codes used by Pakistan for the terrorists are: 66/88 for Jaish-e-Mohammed, A3 for Lashkar-e-Toiba and D9 for Al Badr. The Pakistan Army’s Signal Corp was carrying out this task, the IANS report had said. The report added that the radio stations in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir have been shifted closer to the Line of Control.

Since August 5 decision by the Narendra Modi government, there have been several reports about how Pakistan and the terror groups operating from its soil are planning a major offensive against India. Jaish, a Pakistan-based terrorist outfit, is planning to carry out major strikes in Jammu and Kashmir following India’s move to strip the state of its special status, guaranteed under the Article 370 of the Constitution. The terrorists of Jaish are trying to infiltrate into the Indian side of the border to carry out attacks, an ANI report said on Monday.
