AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at the Central Government for framing Delhi Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain in a bogus case, today. He stated, “All allegations against Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain are completely bogus; his arrest is politically motivated. Had there been even one percent of truth in the case filed against Satyendar Jain, I’d have taken the strictest possible action against him. AAP is a party of honest deshbhakts; we consider corruption to be treason; we can sacrifice our lives but won’t steal even a paisa of taxpayer money. The whole country saw how we sacked our own minister in Punjab and sent him to jail. No one knew about the minister’s corruption; had we wanted we could’ve brushed the matter under the carpets. In 2015, I had sacked the Food Minister from my cabinet in a similar manner and handed him over to the CBI. Not just India, but never has there been a party as honest as the AAP in the whole world. Centre filed bogus cases against several AAP MLA, all of them were acquitted by the court; Shri Satyendar Jain too will walk out innocent. Every AAP worker knows they must always be ready to go to jail or even sacrifice their life if they have to keep up this movement Shri Satyendar Jain has given the whole world a unique model of free healthcare; crores of those beneficiaries are praying for him.”
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Delhi Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Central Government’s Enforcement Directorate yesterday. I studied his case files myself. The bogus case filed against Shri Satyendar Jain is completely motivated and unsubstantiated. The Aam Aadmi Party and its governments are committed to the virtues of honesty, rectitude and deshbhakti. Neither do we engage in corruption worth even a single penny nor do we tolerate any kind of graft. We consider corruption the highest form of treason. We will lay down our lives if need be but not engage in corruption. We can never betray our Bharat Mata.”
He added, “The whole world is witness to how the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab Government exemplified zero-tolerance to corruption when it immediately sacked and sent its own minister to jail when they found him engaging in corruption. Not a single agency, politician or media person was aware of what was going on. We could have brushed off the matter under the carpets had we wanted to, but we chose to walk on the path of honesty and acted against him. We can not trade our souls and betray the nation.”
He continued, “In 2016, I had taken similar action against the Food Minister of my cabinet. I immediately sacked and handed him over to the CBI. Not just in India, but there’s not a single party in the whole world who has committed themselves to honesty like AAP has. The day we sent our minister to jail in Punjab, people from all over India called us to congratulate. They said that they had never thought that there’d be a day where they’d see a party as honest as AAP.”
The Delhi CM said, “I have studied every aspect of Shri Satyendar Jain’s case in depth. I am an educated man. I have good knowledge of such cases and the laws. I can confidently say that the whole case is a sham and a bogus being played for political interests. He is suffering due to dirty politics. Had there been even one percent truth in this case, I would have been the first one to act against him. They’ve filed several such cases against the majority of our MLAs. All of them were acquitted from the court of law. Anything about this country can be overlooked but for its founding principle of truth always prevails. I have been a victim of such cases too. They’ve subjected me to so many raids but they could never frame me. Eventually, Shri Satyendar Jain too will be declared innocent. Our party believes in the principles of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh gave his life for the society. Going to jail for the nation is not a crime, but a deed done for the larger good. Every AAP worker understands that they must always be ready to go to jail or even commit the supreme sacrifice if needed.”
He added, “Shri Satyendar Jain is a staunch patriot. He is extremely honest and courageous. Such jails can never break his honesty and courage but only add on to it. I can understand what his wife and children must be going through. I want to tell them that he is a man of great valour. He gave the world a unique model of Mohalla Clinics. He gave the nation an example of what a health system should be like. The crores of people being treated for free under that health system are praying and showering blessings on him. The Lord is watching, I am certain that he is on our side. We have full faith in the judiciary. He will walk scot-free from the court of law.”
