All-India Weather Alert: Rainfall forecast for next 24 hours in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh

New Delhi:

The weatherman has predicted rainfall for next 24 hours across the country, including in East, North, Central and South India, while heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Delhi and flood-situation hit Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.

According to the MeT department, following parts of the country will receive rainfall for the next 24 hours.

East India: Many places in Jharkhand, Bihar, a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram-Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha.
North India: Most places in east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, a few places in Haryana, Punjab, isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan.
Central: Many places in Chhattisgarh, a few places in west Madhya Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh and isolated places in Vidarbha.
Peninsula: Most places in Konkan and Goa, many places in Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, a few places in coastal Karnataka, isolated places in Saurashtra and Kutch, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka and south interior Karnataka.
Islands: Most places in Andaman and Nicobar. However, dry weather has been forecast in Lakshadweep.

Temperature forecast for major cities, according to the weatherman:

Kolkata: Maximum temperature may hover around 33.3 Celcius degrees while minimum temperature may fall to 27.3 (1.3)
New Delhi: Max 29.5 (-4.6) dc min 25.1 (-0.6)
Chennai: Max 35.2 (0.6) dc min 26.5 (1.2)
Mumbai: Max 31.2 (1.2) dc min 25.4 (0.6)

Meanwhile, over 1,500 deaths and loss of properties owing to the monsoon rains and floods in several states across the country have been reported so far.
