AAP Senior Leader And Rajya Sabha MP Shri Raghav Chadha said that the entire country is aware that only Shri Arvind Kejriwal can defeat Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the electoral battle and that is why the BJP is making all possible attempts to use the CBI and ED to attack AAP leaders such as Shri Manish Sisodia. He added that all the allegations against Shri Manish Sisodia are baseless and the only reason he is being targeted is that the BJP wants to “finish off” Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Addressing a press conference on the issue, the AAP senior leader said that PM Narendra Modi is jealous of Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal as the former does not have an education minister who is as good as the one that Delhi has got.
He further added that the only crime that Shri Manish Sisodia has committed is that he has worked to change the future of 18 lakh children studying in government schools of Delhi. Shri Raghav Chadha also appealed to the 18 lakh children studying in the government schools of Delhi and their parents and said that they should not feel sorry for Shri Manish Sisodia if he is imprisoned, but instead feel proud that they have an Education Minister like him. He said that it is a matter of pride and not regret because whenever an oppressor commits an atrocity, many revolutionaries have to raise the slogan of revolution and go to jail to fight against that oppression. Our freedom fighters gave up everything to free India from the British by spending months and years in jail. Similarly, today, to fight the BJP’s dictatorial policies, some sacrifices have to be made and therefore some brilliant leaders may have to go to jail, he added.
Shri Raghav Chadha asked the BJP whether they know how many zeros are there in Rs 10,000 crore. He was referring to the BJP's repeated allegations that Shri Manish Sisodia was involved in a 10,000 crore rupee scam. Where did the 10,000 crore rupees go, he asked. The ED and CBI conducted raids at Shri Manish Sisodia's house, ancestral village, bank locker, and all the addresses of his friends and relatives, but BJP's investigating agencies did not find any money. This is because all these allegations are completely false and fabricated. BJP wants to eliminate CM Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party by any means necessary. For this reason, the BJP wants to one by one arrest all the leaders of AAP. He argued that no scam took place in this case, and yet the BJP went around screaming as if a massive scam had taken place. If a scam has taken place, where is the evidence to prove any of it, he asked. Shri Raghav Chadha said that the world knows that Shri Manish Sisodia is a minister who wakes up at 6 am and goes to schools to carry out inspections. He asked whether a corrupt person who is alleged to have taken a bribe of Rs 10,000 crore would do something like this.
He said that corrupt people indulge in immorality and said that all these allegations against the Dy CM are to target the AAP government in Delhi and put their leaders in jail. He added that all of this is being done only because PM Narendra Modi is fearful of the support that AAP and Shri Arvind Kejriwal are receiving all over the country. He said that Shri Manish Sisodia is not just known as India's but also the world's best Education Minister. People in the country may not know the name of the Central Education Minister, but everyone knows the name of Delhi's Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia. This is Manish Sisodia's real achievement. On June 25, 1975, Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi imposed an emergency in the country. The Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) was introduced at that time, under which opposition leaders and others were arrested and put in jail. "Today, the CBI-ED and Income Tax are also working under the same law. I have no hesitation in saying that the CBI-ED and Income Tax have become the MISA law of today's era", he said. However, he added that, just like in 1977 when the people of the country dethroned the Congress party, which was intoxicated with power, the same will happen in 2024. This feeling is beginning to emerge.
Shri Raghav Chadha said that Shri Manish Sisodia is a colleague and it will definitely sadden us to see him go to jail, but the greatest sorrow will be felt by the 18 lakh children and their parents in Delhi. Their eyes will surely be filled with tears. I want to tell the children to keep studying, do their homework diligently, and go to school. Uncle Manish will also get all your news from jail. If he thinks that the children have stopped studying, are afraid to learn, or are not listening to their parents, or not doing their homework, then Uncle Manish will feel very bad. Follow the path that Uncle Manish has shown you and always shine the name of your country and your parents. He expressed sorrow at the fact that the same Manish who provided books and pencils to the 18 lakh children of Delhi will today be handcuffed and put in jail. “Today, the BJP is going to put handcuffs on the same Manish Sisodia who gave books and pencils to over 18 lakh children in Delhi.
The people of the country will never forgive the BJP for this. BJP should fight its political battle in the electoral field. People who attack their political opponents with the help of government agencies are cowards. How many Manish Sisodias will the Modi government put in jail? If they put one Manish Sisodia in jail, then ten more will be born. Today, Shri Manish Sisodia is not the name of any person in the country, but the name of an institution. This institution has brought a revolution in the field of education, and laid the foundation for a strong India by providing a golden future to millions of people. Even if Manish Sisodia is put in jail, thousands of Manish Sisodias will stand up in this country, and a very big revolution will be created in the country,” he said.
