New Delhi:

Allahabad High Court on Sunday will hear a case related to hoardings put up by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government that holds photographs and other details of all the allegedly accused in violence during the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The suo moto action from Allahabad High Court comes after the UP government official stated that the hoardings were put up on the directives of CM Yogi Adityanath at important intersections in Lucknow.

According to a report of PTI, the Lucknow administration on Thursday put up hoardings with photographs and other details of those who had been identified for realising compensation for the damage to public property during anti-CAA protests that took place in December last year. The hoardings included the photographs, names, and addresses of those accused of indulging in vandalism during the protests.

The hoardings put up by the administration said that the properties of the accused will be confiscated if they fail to pay the compensation.

In December last year, massive violence had broken out across the state during the anti-CAA protests. At least 60 police personnel were hit by bullets across the state while trying to control the violence. Later, hundreds were arrested across the violence-hit districts in Uttar Pradesh and charges of rioting and attempted murder were filed against them.
