The post-mortem report of Alwar lynching victim Rakbar Khan alias Akbar on Tuesday revealed that he died of “shock as a result of ante-mortem (before death) injuries sustained over body”.
Khan, who was allegedly beaten up black and blue by a mob over suspicion of cow smuggling, suffered 13 injuries – eight bruises, two abrasions, a laceration, and a multiple fractures in wrist and femur.
“After careful examination of a dead body are of opinion that the cause of death, in this case, is shock as a result of ante-mortem injuries sustained over body mentioned in PMR. However, visceras (sic) are preserved to rule out any intoxication prior to death or pre-existing disease,” doctors said in their observation.
Rakbar along with his friend Aslam was stopped by villages in Lalwandi on suspicion of cow smuggling. While Aslam managed to flee, the mob thrashed Rakbar with sticks, resulting in serious injuries.

“While Aslam (his associate) managed to escape, unknown locals beat him (Akbar) up with sticks which led to serious injuries on his arms, legs and all over his body. He then collapsed and we took him in our police jeep to Ramgarh CHC where doctors declared him dead,” the FIR filed by the police read.
However, the role of Rajasthan police came under scanner after eyewitnesses claimed that they show cops beating Khan. The police reached the spot minutes before 1 am in the late night. However, it took them three hours to take the victim to a nearby hospital which was not more than six kilometers away from the spot.
The cops even sipped cup of teas on the way to the hospital. Also, they first took the cows to a shelter home rather than providing medical attention to the victim.
